This is a continuation of the three-day ROTATE mission detailed in the previous chase summary. I had driven the DOW support vehicle back to Norman, Oklahoma on the night of the 3rd to have its windshield replaced. Valerie (my fiancée) joined me as I drove the vehicle back to the rest of the crew, still situated in Amarillo, Texas.

Convection on this day lured us far into New Mexico (never a good thing). While in Tucumcari, we met up with Tim Samaras and his mobile mesonet crew. We eventually found ourselves about 30 miles north of Roswell, where we finally threw in the towel.
