Located on the west coast of the
Big Island, Kona is a small, but cosmopolitan town, nestled
on the slopes of Haulalai. We spent three nights at the beautiful
Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort, about four miles south of downtown.
We enjoyed a lu'au at the Royal
Kona Resort, which our guidebook cites as a "Best Bet."
The price was around $60 a head and included a large meal of
pork, beef, and fish (all slowly cooked inside a pig...cool!).
Oh yeah, don't forget about the pretty women struttin' their
stuff on stage!
