Friday, May 5, 2006: I was in the States for a week of training in Huntsville, AL and was able to make a side trip to Detroit to hang out with friends (yeah, and family too). Jarret had the great idea of going to play Belgian Feather Bowling. According to Wikipedia, "Feather bowling is a game played with wooden balls shaped like wheels of cheese. The balls are rolled down a dirt or synthetic alley towards a feather sticking out of the dirt at the other end. The object of the game is to get the ball as close to the feather as possible." Wikipedia also mentions that the only place to play the game in the US is the Cadieux Café in Detroit, while an imitation version, called "Belgian trough bowling" is available at the Bath City Bistro in Mt. Clemens.

We started the evening off by stuffing our faces and having the first few rounds of drinks at Red Robin on Gratiot. We then hung out at Bath City Bistro until our lane was available. Too bad the waitress kicked us out at midnight, only 45 minutes into our 60-minute reservation! Either way, it was great to see everyone.

Jarret's House Dinning in style at the fashionable Red Robin (L to R): Adam, Kim, Dan, Rick's elbow, Mike, Jarret, and Mark (L to R): Mark, me, Jason, Kristin, and Adam's chin
Who would've thunk that all you had to do to get a free hot fudge sundae was to lie about it being your birthday?!? Thanks guys! Kim and Mark relaxing and waiting for our lane to open up You dare ask me for a second favor, this, on the day of my daughter's wedding? Dan and Jarret play with their balls
This is basically the best roll possible.
What, me worry? Come to Papa
Kristin and Adam recently got engaged. This is one of the Mt. Clemens manhole covers that blew off in early May. The manhole cover shot right up into this metal gazebo.
